Have you heard about the so-called sesame milk? The incredible drink is based on sesame seeds, one of the healthiest foods you can eat. Sesame seeds are perfect for our health – they contain a variety of vitamins and minerals, as well as lecithin and fatty acids which are great for our heart and brain.
The drink has more calcium than cow’s milk – 100 gr. of raw sesame seeds have 1.125 mg. of calcium, while 2 glasses of cow’s milk contain 500 mg. calcium is an important mineral for our bones, and its levels should be kept in check. Luckily, if you’re lactose intolerant or just don’t like the taste of milk, you can try the following recipe:
- ¼ cup raw sesame seeds
- ½ a l. of water
First, you’ll need to grind the seeds nicely. Once you get a fine powder, add the water in and mix well. Leave the mixture for a couple of hours, then strain it if needed and sweeten with honey if you like. Another great option is to mix a cup of sesame butter (tahini) and some water in a blender, but whatever you choose, you won’t go wrong.
Drink the mixture every day and you’ll surely improve your overall health.
