Have you heard about the Nabeez drink? This beverage was pretty popular in the times of prophet Muhammad, but it has recently been drawing much attention again due to the health benefits it offers.
The drink is based on raisins (or dates in some recipes), which should be steeped in the evening in skin vessels and consumed in the morning. If there was a bit too much of the drink, they poured it out and made a new batch.
Here’s one of the preserved Nabeez recipes:
- A handful of raisins or dates
- 6-8 oz. of water
Put the raisins or dates in water after the Isha prayer and leave them to soak overnight on room temperature. Remove them in the morning and eat them, then drink the water as well. Nabeez is a highly popular drink in the Middle East and is often served to guests instead of tea.
The importance of Nabeez
Nabeez should be consumed as a pre-dawn meal and is a powerful alkalizing tonic that can improve your digestion and metabolic rate. It contains a lot of fiber which is great for your digestion, and will also improve your memory and brain performance as well. By drinking it regularly, you will also improve the health of your spleen, liver and throat and give your overall health a significant boost.
