Bills can cost a lot and we all think we need the money and safety too. The old bulbs are now eco bulbs that save energy.
People though these were amazing but experts said there Is bad news, they are not good! This triggered the US Environmental Protection Agency made emergency protocol for these modern bulbs. They focused on breakage since they have inside poison gas.
If you break them, the bulb releases 20 times more mercury than allowed.
This was made by group of experts from Fraunhofer Wilhelm Klauditz Institute and did a study for the German’s Federal Environment Agency.
Causes by energy saving bulbs
- Bad focus
These fancy bulbs make migraine, cancer, anxiety and such.
1. They have mercury
Danger neurotoxin affecting kids and pregnant women. This affects the brain, nerves , kidneys and liver. It has bad effect on the immunity, heart, reproductive system and more. Such exposure makes tremors, insomnia, anxiety, memory loss, Alzheimer’s headaches and cancer.
2. These bulbs make cancer
Of Berlin University Alab Laboratory was a study made by Braun Peter who said these bulbs are carcinogens. The phenol in them is toxic whyte crystalline of coal tar. And s used in chemical makings. The naphthalene is also crystal solid of coal tar distilles. It is used for mothballs. They use it raw as material for this purpose. The styrene is unsaturated and liquid form of hydrocarbon or petroleum byproduct.
3. Energy saving bulbs emit UV
They emit UV traces and UV-C radiation. The UV is bad for the health and may even cause cancer. It impairs vision too. immunity is attacked, ski damaged and D3 bad absorbed. Price does not play a role and these bulbs are a health risk. Break one such and Environmental Protection Agency will need every citizen to follow a protocol about the carcinogens and mercury.
Official EPA broken bulb and clean up process
This is the emergency protocol for poison glass:
1. Before the cleanup
Leave the room. Open doors and windows for fresh air. Turn off heating and conditioning. Get stiff paper or cardboard, sticky tape, damp paper towel or wet wipes
Glass of jar or plastic wrap for it
2. During cleanup
NEVER vacuum. This way you will see glass bits even after the cleaning. This will spread mercury and vapors more. Use stiff powder for the glass pieces. Sticky tape gets the smallest parts and throw this in the bag. Once cleaned, see more info on rugs, carpets, surfaces. Dispose the thrash in container.
3. After cleanup
Remove the cloths outdoors in container until the waste gets disposed. Bulb remains must NOT be inside. The local government must take care of this.
Some localities need fluorescent bulbs for recycling centers, regardless safe or broken. Just in case, dispose the garbage in bins.
