A good night sleep is vital for the health. We all lack sleep and this deficit can damage the health a lot. Even 48% of USA people between 35-54 have sleep deficit.
This deficit also makes illnesses like:
1. Obesity and diabetes
Experts of the Chicago University said that the fatty acids affect the metabolism and its speed and also the regulation of blood sugar. Those that lack sleep have more fat deposits and more fatty acids.
A study of John Hopkins University stated that lack of sleep speeds up the risk of this disease. Also it makes the progress of the disease worse and the experts said that such inability for removal of brain waste makes dementia.
3. Heart issues
These issues are closely linked to lack of sleep. Russian men, 657 of them between 25-64 were monitored for 14 years and it was said that 2/3 of them had heart attacks due to sleep problems.
Experts made a link between bad sleep and suicide thinking in adult people regardless of depression. The Stanford Medicine University made a study with 420 people. 20 of them had hard time sleeping and committed suicide. Most at risk were white males over 85.
5. Prostate cancer
The experts of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention made a study where was seen more rate of this cancer in Iceland people with bad sleep habits. They were between 67-96. The risk was bigger for this cancer by 60% in those with lack of sleep. The reason might have been melatonin suppression. This melatonin stops the growth of tumors and makes us sleep better.
6. Ulcerative colitis
This means the bowels are inflamed and ulcers are made inside the digestive organs. And NHS study said that this is due to lack or too much sleep. Over 9 hours is just as bad as less than 6 and causes risk of ulcerative colitis.
