Those who’re trying to lose weight are often facing a dilemma whether to eat light or a heavier meal for breakfast. In order to save time and cut calories, they’re even ready to give up breakfast, which is the worst choice. Breakfast is really the most important meal of the day, regardless if you want to lose weight or not, and a recent scientific research confirmed it.
Experts from the Else Kroner-Fresenius Foundation recently conducted a study on more than 300 overweight people, which were asked to write down what they had for their meals every day of the week. All the participants ate the same for lunch or dinner regardless if they had a light or heavy breakfast. The result was eating 400 calories more than the recommended amount, which really isn’t anything to be afraid of. In the end, the participants learned that starving for breakfast won’t really help with the cutting of the calories.
If you’re trying to lose weight, it’s best to cut calories for lunch or dinner. Your breakfast meal should be healthy and full of nutrients, as it kickstarts your body and gives it energy for the day. If you really want to lose weight, eat a healthy diet and stay away from sugar and processed foods, and have a healthy breakfast as well. This, paired with regular physical activity, is the key for losing weight the right way.
