These 7 Warning Signs Will Tell You If You’re Consuming Too Much Sugar. I’d Never Expected No. 3!

We all love eating sweets, but the problem with these foods is that they contain too much sugar. Sugar is even present in foods you don’t expect it such as potato chips or veggies, so it’s pretty safe to say that this harmful ingredient is unavoidable. High sugar consumption can have serious negative consequences on our health, which is why it should be avoided.

Sugar can turn to fat in the body and surround the organs which will disrupt their normal function and cause numerous other problems. Sugar is also the main reason for diseases such as diabetes, as well as a variety of other health problems. Here are 7 signs that indicate you’re consuming too much sugar:

Fatigue
Sugar does give you an almost immediate energy rush, but it will make you crash down to Earth later. The so-called sugar low will make you feel more tired than before, so you may want to eat an apple instead of a chocolate bar when you need some energy.

Brain fog
If you’re having problems focusing after a meal, it might be because of too much sugar in it. The extreme sugar spikes can result in cognitive impairment over time and have been associated with depression.

Sugar addiction
If nothing tastes as sweet as before, you’ve become a sugar addict. Long-term high sugar consumption is highly dangerous and will increase your palate’s sensitivity to glucose, resulting in the need for more sugar, which will create additional problems.

Weight gain
As sugar turns to fat in the body, eating it in large amounts will result in weight gain. Sugar contains a lot of empty calories and will only satiate you at the moment and leave you even more hungry afterwards. This is the main reason why you become hungry sooner after eating junk food rather than natural homecooked meals.

The munchies
Getting the munchies more often is normal when you’re consuming a high amount of sugar. Sugar’s addiction has been compared to that of heroin and cocaine, which is why you need to eliminate it from your diet.

Recurring infections
If you’re suffering from recurring infections more often it may be because of the high sugar consumption. Sugar can weaken your immune system and make you more prone to infections, which is why you need to reduce its intake.

Skin problems
The body can’t process big amounts of sugar, so it sends the excess toxins to the skin as a last resort of getting rid of them. This may cause numerous skin problems such as acne, eczema and dry skin which can’t be treated with cosmetic products.

Sweets do make things better, and an occasional piece of cake or chocolate bar won’t hurt you that much. However, you should get most of your sugar from natural sources such as fruits if you want to keep your health in check.

Getting rid of sugar is a big challenge, but once you’re done with it, you will rediscover all the flavors in the world. Instead of sugar, use herbs and spices to flavor your meals and you won’t regret it.
