First impressions are critical, but they can often be deceiving. You can read some people easily just by giving them a look, while others require a few meetings so you can learn if they have good or bad intentions. Some people may be kind at first, but can you really tell if it’s the real thing?
There are people that may be kind to you at first, then transform to bad people once you get to know them. They are approachable and friendly, so making friends isn’t an issue for them. However, once they take off their mask, you will be shocked to learn what’s underneath. These “kind” people will only show you what you want to see. They always end up getting what they want, which is the main reason for their kindness. Luckily, you can avoid them and spare yourself the horrors by learning how to read the following signs:
If a person is dominant in a conversation and everything revolves around them, you’re better off without them. Remember – any normal human being will listen what you have to say and express their opinions and thoughts. These people are self-focused and are probably trying to get something from you.
You feel bad after talking with them
If you’re feeling bad and confused after talking to someone, don’t get attached to them. Trust your instincts – if they’re screaming that something’s not right, that person is bad. Manipulative people use words as weapons. When talking to a nice person, you will feel motivated and positive after the conversation, but bad people will suck out the positive energy from you.
They are demanding
Some people may look nice at first, but they’re only trying to sweeten you up in order to get what they want. This is how they feel superior, and how they convince themselves they’re in control. In a real friendship, no one is superior – you’re all equals and willing to share.
Weird body language
This is only one of the arsenal of weapons bad people use. If a person has good body language and eye contact when you’re speaking with them, you can relax. However, if the body language is wrong, the person is too.
Bad people will manipulate and persuade you to do things you don’t have to. In the end, you will be hurt, and they’ll be left with the spoils. If someone close to you is persuading you to do something you know it’s wrong, you need to stay away from them.
They try bringing you down with humor
As we said, bad people feel the need to be superior. However, as they can’t insult you directly, they will pretend they’re something they aren’t, using humor as a shield. However, the humor is only there to disguise their evil nature and their way of getting attention. If you recognize someone from your group of friends acting like this, avoid them.
