Is getting fit part of your 2018 New Year resolution? If it is you may want to follow up on some of the latest fitness trends and find out which ones will fit your needs best.
Every year we get a new set of fitness trends, popular diets, detox drinks and many other regimes for losing weight and getting in shape. It seems that living healthy is becoming a trend in recent years as more and more people are determined to start eating healthier, get active and eliminate the unhealthy habits from their lifestyle. More people are also starting supplementations with nutrients like turmeric and omega 3 in an effort to achieve optimal health, which can be quite beneficial if used and chosen correctly.
Furthermore, there are more and more ways in which you can get fit and stay in shape and you’re no longer limited to the boring gym and yoga classes. There are so many options you can choose from that we’re so excited to see what 2018 has in store for us.
Here are some of the fitness trends we expected to be super popular this year:
Now you can become a real-sized mermaid and get fit while you do it. Can you believe that there’s a fitness class where you can put on a pair of fins and get working on your body while you do it. Mermaid classes are a fun water workout that we believe will be huge in 2018. It combines fun and sports into an amazing fitness class where you can perform tricks, glide through water and kick with your fins. There’s even an advanced class where you can do synchronized swimming and more advanced fin tricks.
High intensity interval training was popular last year and we believe it’s still going strong and will be popular in 2018 as well. Why is it so popular? Probably because it’s effective and fun as well. It combines low intensity, moderate intensity and high intensity exercises in intervals and provides excellent results. It boosts your metabolism, stimulates weight loss, fat burning and tones your muscles. It’s much more effective than pure cardio and gives you long lasting fat burning effects.
You may think working out at home is the easiest for your busy schedule but that’s only because you haven’t tried group exercise. They’re becoming increasingly popular and it’s no wonder because it’s much more fun to exercise in a group, it’s more motivating and it offers a kind of a support system. You can join a number of group exercise classes from Zumba and pilates to pole dancing and water aerobics. Try them out and see how fun they are.
It may have become popular last year but tracking is still a hit and it really shouldn’t surprise us. Trackers are not just for counting the number of steps we make every day but they can also analyze our health and make sure we’re meeting out fitness and health goal. They monitor our sleep patterns, heart rate and they’ve become so advanced that some can even detect health problems like sleep apnea.
Yoga is still going strong even in 2018 as more and more people are leaning towards their spiritual side and look after their mental state. Yoga has been popular for years now and its popularity is not decreasing, despite the newly invented workout regimens. It just keeps expanding and now it even includes other types of exercise. Now you have aerial yoga which includes doing yoga while you’re suspended in the air via a fabric hammock. This is supposed to increase your flexibility and muscle strength and forces you to work harder to maintain yourself in the air. Plus, it’s super fun!
What do you think, which ones are you going to try in 2018?
