In a recent survey performed on people who were 50 or more, they discussed about what they wish they had done when they were younger. Some of their answers were very simple, but some very very smart. Take a look at them.
1. Don’t smoke. Stop it now!
One of the people claim that she would stop smoking back then. This dangerous habit causes various health problems, it smells very bad and it’s very expensive. So, just do it now!
2. Stop eating worthless food.
Try to give up some unhealthy foods when you’re younger. You’ll be full of toxic matters when you become 50 or more.
3. Maintain good relationships with your parents and siblings (or repair them if you should).
You must get on with your family, especially your siblings and your parents. You may have a different opinion on something, but think about it. It would be better to talk now, than regret it forever. Everything can be sorted out.
4. Never go out in the sun without sunblock.
You must protect your skin from young age. It’s very important to use sunblock so that your skin is healthy and without wrinkles.
5. Exercise regularly.
You must start building an active lifestyle as soon as possible. Make sure you exercise often and regularly. Try not to gain weight, so that you can be as healthier as you can.
6. Save even the smallest amount of money.
Saving money is very important. You may think it’s useless, but you can really save something. You’ll continue doing it later and you’ll have more money aside. You can never know when you’ll need them.
7. Always be content with what you have.
Be happy with what you have. If you aren’t, you’ll never be peaceful. Be happy with less, because even if you have millions, you may not be happy.

No matter what you want to do, have children, change your career, buy a house, try a dangerous sport etc., start it out today. You never know when it may be too late!
9. Sleep well.
Optimal sleep is very important. If you don’t sleep at least 8 hours every night in a quiet room without any light, you’ll be exhausted and that will eventually cause other health problems, too. Make sure you have a routine and you go to bed and wake up at the same time. You should also avoid the use of any mobile phone, tablet or lap-top before going to bed.
10. Maintain good oral health.
You must visit your dentist often. Dental problems seem small, but they can be the cause for the appearance of numerous other health problems. Try to forget about the bills and the pain and go as soon as possible!
11. Collect memories and not things.
Make sure you collect more memories and not things. You’ll always remember them.
12. Give something back.
Be kind and good always, so that you can feel the good going right back at you. Always do things with your heart and soul. Don’t expect anything in return.
13. Be curious! Do something scary for you every day.
Go for an adventure! Do whatever you wanted to do and considered it to be even a bit dangerous, go bungee jumping, fly with a helicopter or whatever you want to. The memory will remain and you’ll smile about that when you become old.
14. Read at least 10 books every year.
Try to avoid the TV and the computer. Read more books instead. That’s how your brain grows.
15. Travel as much as you can.
Travelling is very important. You’ll experience the real adventure, take some risks and you’ll always remember the beautiful places you’ve been too. It’s a wonderful experience!
16. Learn how to meditate.
This thing is something you must try. There are numerous studies that prove its efficiency. Meditation is the real way to peace and relaxation.
17. Never compare yourself to others.
Don’t try to impress the people that were around you. Stop comparing yourself to other people. You’ll become a much stronger person that you ever were.
18. Keep a journal.
If you write a journal, you’ll have all your precious memories with you and you’ll never forget them. You can store the memories on computer. It would be easier for you to put photos, too. You’ll be grateful for that when it’s time to show it to yor children and grandchildren.
19. Own a home.
Make sure you own something, an apartment or a house. The choice is yours and you’ll never regret it!
20. Take care of your friends.
Always make sure you have the right friends by your side. Try to spend more time with them laughing and enjoying life. Be in touch whenever you can. Those bonds are forever and can’t be broken!
